Campbell Family Memories

A place to remember and connect

The Family Memory Project

How this project evolved

This project began with my father’s wish to share his home movies of Campbell family events, with the families of his ten siblings. Over time the project became a tribute to the family of Alice and James Campbell, based of the memories of my father Ray Campbell.

The project began with the three minute Super 8 movies being converted to digital video format, with narrated descriptions of the events and people who were there. The videos are of Campbell Family Reunions that took place in the early 1980’s.

Narrated photo slide shows of each Campbell family members were added to the project. A collection of family photos was sorted by family member and organized into narrated slideshows. The narrations show a window into the who each of the family members were, provide some description of their lives, and convey my father’s personal memories.

It has taken almost a year to put this tribute together involving many hours of thought and effort. This Website is the culmination of those efforts, and contains some of the history of the Campbell Family. We invite the descendants of Alice and James Campbell to share their memories and experiences with us, and take up the task of recording their own family history.

Hopefully this will be just the beginning of a good thing!!!
